The great white North

So, I'm in Beijing now! I arrived yesterday about 14:30.
As I rushed to wake up early on Wednesday Morning so that I could go and say goodbye to my Friends at Xinxing Primary School, I had a Phonecall telling me that the only Bus to Haikou is at 8:00! So, I had to rush to get ready and leave for Haikou without saying any goodbyes to anyone! Miss Zhou and Mr. Pan went with me to the Bus Station. Also, Cherry went with me, because she lives in Haikou and she wanted to help me find the Train Station. So we got to Haikou around 14:30, because the Bus got a Flat and we had to stop for a while.
Once in Haikou we needed to wait for the #40 Bus to the Train Station and it took about 45 Minutes to get there, and then I went to get onto it and one of my Bags broke open and spilled into the Street, so I had to pick it all up and the Bus left. The next one came about 45 Minutes later... :( But, when we finally got to the Train Station, Cherry hung out with me there for almost the whole Day because my Train wasn't until about 20:45. We talked with some People from Hong Kong, they were some Teens who were there just travelling.
So, on the Train I met some Teens from Guangzhou, and they were really nice, they gave me some Food and we chatted. At one Point, I felt retarded! The Train had stopped in what I had, in all Honesty, thought was a Train Station. It looked just like a Trainstation! So I was wondering why we were stopped for so long and then I looked outside, past the Walls of the "Train Station" and realised that the whole freaking Station was MOVING!! I was soooo confused! Everyone else were also looking out the Windows in Confusion, so I didn't feel too terribly stupid. Once I started seeing the Land pass away and I realised we were crossing the Water between Hainan Island and the Mainland, I realised that we were on a Train Ferry. But for about 30 Minutes, we must have been in a Canal, cos I could only see the "Train Station" and Land beyond it's Walls. It was the strangest Feeling. I was actually scared at one Point, haha! I mean, how would you feel, if Reality just suddenly came crashing down and the Train Stations, rather than Trains, moved?!?! HAHA!
When I arrived in Guangzhou, I quickly caught a Cab and went to the Bureau of Exit and Entry and paid for my Visa and Passport and I walked back to the Train Station, because it's not very far, and I can use the exercise. Haha!
After getting my Ticket for Beijing, I was just waiting for my Train and a New Zealander with 7 Friends came up to me, and he asked me where he can buy a Ticket to Hong Kong. I was excited to meet some Foreigners who can speak English and not Engrish, haha. So I was eager to help them. They didn't speak any Chinese, so I offered to translate for them, I helped them buy their Tickets to Shenzhen, because you can't take a Train directly into Hong Kong, because it was another Country. I felt great about myself, because I was able to serve as a Translator between English and MANDARIN!! Wow, haha! So, they thanked me and we parted Ways. If they were Chinese, they would have invited me to Lunch for helping them, haha. They were interesting though, they were just a little older than I am, I suppose. They have been travelling in China for about 3 Months now, and they spent most of their Tyme in Tibet and Inner Mongolia. They also spent some Tyme in Mongolia. In Fact, they had just come to Guangzhou from Ulaanbataar(I'm sure that's not spellt correctly).
So, on the Train to Beijing, I met a Girl from Hebei who's living in Guangzhou, a Girl from Beijing, and a Guy from Inner Mongolia. They were all really nice. The Girl from Hebei kept giving me Fruits and Snacks the Duration of the Ride. As we grew nearer to Beijing, I started noticing less Vegitation until everything outside the Train was just dead... Then I slowly started noticing, in the baren Wasteland that laid befoure our Eyes, that all of the Rivers and Lakes were not filled with Water, but Ice... THEN, I realised that I have one Jacket... AND that "Jacket" is a simple Track Jacket. Haha! When I got off the Train(Underground), it didn't seem so cold. So, I though, "Hey, this isn't so bad." When I got above Ground into the Station, it was a little cooler, but I though, "eh, I can deal with this." And when I reached the outside Air, I felt my Blood in my Hands freezing, and when I moved my Fingers, it felt like I was stirring a Slushy from 7-11 with my bare Hands!
I quickly got used to it though. So, I caught the Number 319 Bus to 颐和园路东口. It's always good to remember where you are and which Buses to take, because as you can see from the Number, there are MANY MANY Buses in Beijing. Shortly, after I arrived at the Office, we went back to Mr. Feng's House and had Supper. After Supper, Goldwyn invited me to go out with him and some other Friends to have some Milk Tea near 5DK. It wasn't so delicious, but it was definitely expensive! I didn't pay though, so it's all good. Hehe...
After that, we went into a 9 Story Mall to just look around, and I realised that there was a "Grandma's Kitchen" in there! It's the only Place in China which serves Dr. Pepper! So naturally, I went in to inquire the Price. They want TWENTY YUAN for ONE CAN of Dr. Pepper!!! Can you believe that?!?!?! That's like almost 10* the Price for a Can of anything else! It's 2* sometymes 4* the Price of a T-SHIRT!!! I was so close to a Can of Dr. Pepper, and I wanted it sooo bad, but I think it's cheaper for one of my Friends in the US to send me one. BTW, if you're reading this and wondering why I'm talking about Dr. Pepper like that, it's cos I have an Addiction!!!! Haha, really!
When we came Home, we just went to Bed. This Morning, we woke up and had some Noodles for Breakfast at a local Restaurant and then we went to 北京语言大学(Beijing Language and Culture University) to hand out some Gifts to the Foreigners and invite them to join our Company to teach English to Middle School Students. Not very many People seemed interested, and one Lady said, "You wanna teach me English???" Haha!
So now, I'm just sitting at the Office a little bit bored, but it's warm in here, haha. I think I'm going to Inner Mongolia or Heilongjiang(The Black Dragon's River Province) soon. They are both North of Beijing, so they will be even colder! I'm excited already.......

btw, if anyone reads this, and you are interested in becoming an Oral English Teacher in China, you can contact me about the Details. It's a very exciting Job, I have learned a lot since I've been here, and we have candidate Schools all throughout China, I don't believe there are any in Tibet or Taiwan yet though... Sadly, I would love to go to Taiwan or Tibet! Haha, but maybe soon there will be some. Every Semester we get more Schools added to our List. We are starting a Winter Camp here soon at the Beginning of January probably in Inner Mongolia. The next Semester begins around the Middle of February 2009, so there's lots of Tyme to e-mail me and to think about it.
